b. Jeremy Irons (1948)
YALR - Yet another “Lolita” reference.
I’d always liked Jeremy Irons even before his version.
The best film version hasn’t been made yet, and may never be. The problem is the title character. Maybe it’s just me, but the female I think of when I conjure up Nabokov’s Lo is a female most males would not find attractive, which makes her anti-movie.
Still, this version has its bright moments.
